Darren is a percussionist of rare discipline and energy, inspired by the creative traditions of jazz, free jazz and european improv. Darren is currently lecturer in popular music at LASALLE-SIA college of the Arts in Singapore. Wherever he has lived he has quickly become a key creative voice, playing duos with Lindsay Vickery in Perth, performing with master percussionists Will Guthrie and Robbie Avenaim in Melbourne and with Australia's jazz powerhouse Scott Tinkler. In Sydney he has collaborated with Jon Rose and Chris Abrahams (the Necks), he has performed with New Zealand’s Jeff Henderson.  Recently, he has collaborated with the Eric Boeren, Micheal Vatcher and Wilbert Dejoode in a double trio with the Tim O’dwyer Trio.
